Antimicrobials, such as antibiotics, are substances used to kill microorganisms or to stop them from growing and multiplying. They are commonly used in both human and veterinary medicine to treat a wide variety of infectious diseases. The antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is the ability of a microorganism to resist the action of one or more antimicrobial agents. The alarming use of antimicrobials have transformed the microbial resistance in worldwide threat for the humanity that require immediate action across all government sectors and society.
