HFE Innovation Day
Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc

This morning Health First Europe’s team had the pleasure of welcoming Members of the European Parliament, a DG SANTE official, and relevant stakeholders in the digital health community to an Innovation Day event at the Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc, in Brussels. Participating members had the opportunity to tour two screening laboratories and engage in open discussion with health practitioners to learn about the critical importance of digital skills in modern health care.

The idea for this event stemmed from the need to recognise the importance of education and training for healthcare professionals in the digital sphere, the necessity for better integration of care in healthcare settings, and the significance of screening and early diagnosis in improving corresponding healthcare outcomes.

Following an introduction of the Clinique from Pr Damien Gruson, Chief of Department of Laboratories at the Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc, visitors were welcomed to visit the central automated laboratory and the laboratory of molecular biology. Both labs feature state of the art, innovative technologies that aim to rebuild the healthcare sector into a more streamlined, modern system.

This event was also an opportunity to recommit to HFE’s three main pillars: education and training, integration of care and screening and early diagnosis. The Innovation Day supports these three pillars by letting prominent stakeholders in the healthcare community learn about the impact new healthcare technologies and digital practices pose on society. Additionally, showcasing the strides that healthcare institutions, such as the Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc are making in the implementation of modern technology, and lastly, by introducing technologies that assist in capturing critical information necessary to diagnose illness and suggest proper preventative care guidelines.

Sincere thanks to the Cliniques universitaires Saint Luc and all in attendance for a collaborative morning of education and insight. Stay on the lookout for more content from the event in the coming weeks.
