MEP Kay Swinburne is a member of the European Conservatives and Reformist Party in the European Parliament and she has been representing Wales since she was elected in June 2009. She sits on the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs and the Special Committee on the Financial, Economic and Social Crisis. She also is a member of the EuroMed Parliamentary Assembly and serves as a Welsh Conservative Party Board Member.
Though much of her current work focuses on financial services, MEP Swinburne has a medical background having studied Biochemistry and Microbiology at King’s College London, after which she received a Ph.D. in medical research. She was actively engaged in the debates on the Cross-border Health Care Directive recently adopted by the Council in March 2011.
Health First Europe is very pleased to welcome MEP Swinburne as a Supporter and looks forward to future collaborations.
