Applications of AI in health: to solve societal challenges or to become one?

#EUCitylabs

 Monday, 9 July 2018, 17.30 – 19.00
Io Sono Wine Bar (Rue du Trône 62, 1050 Bruxelles)

The purpose of the debate is to offer a real and dynamic discussion among key stakeholders and policymakers on the applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in health and medical laboratory and to what extent AI can speed and advance the clinical decision.

Artificial intelligence (AI) endows systems with the capability to analyse their environment and take decisions with some degree of autonomy to achieve goals. As a key driver of economic development, it can bring solutions to many societal challenges from treating diseases to minimising the environmental impact of farming. However, socio-economic, legal and ethical impacts have to be carefully addressed.

EVENT SUMMARY

My City-Lab project – financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) – aims to create new primary care structures, called City-Labs, integrating the innovation of laboratory medicine and mobile health.  The scope of the project is to facilitate access to laboratory tests as part of an integrated and collaborative approach to ambulatory care of a chronically ill individual, as well as to contribute to the dynamic monitoring of patients with chronic diseases.
